Maison Gala opens its doors for JEMA
On the occasion of the European Days of Arts and Crafts (JEMA ), Maison Gala invites you to discover its collections, its artisans and their arts and crafts in the 16th arrondissement of Paris: a new way of reaffirming its commitment to French and Italian arts and crafts, which it seeks to support, promote and enhance.
JEMA is the largest international event dedicated to crafts and living heritage professions. Maison Gala is therefore very proud to be involved once again and to promote the precious know-how it represents.
The theme “Enhancing the everyday”
The theme « Enhancing the Everyday » will take on its full meaning through the presentation of our creations made using eco-friendly techniques and materials such as porcelain, stoneware, linen, and hemp.
Unique new creations, projects currently in progress, and discussions on exciting upcoming projects will be featured during these two days.
By promoting the tableware and interior design professions as well as the use of noble materials, while raising public awareness of the eco-responsible dimension of these skills, two exceptional workshops will be organized on this occasion over two days around porcelain and the art of Kintsugi.
Two workshops will be presented
Saturday April 1st and Sunday April 2nd, 2023.
The two workshops will be presented to the general public by Caterina and Barbara throughout the two days of Saturday April 1 and Sunday April 2, 2023.
- 1. The first workshop will focus on the art of « Kintsugi, » a Japanese technique and art of repair using gold, which promotes durability while enhancing the existing object. Other precious metals, such as brass and silver, will be used for repair and upcycling.
- 2. The second workshop will show the creation of cutlery and tableware pieces, handmade from porcelain, that is to say a natural material, from the earth (as opposed to the more generally used steel).
You will also discover beautiful artistic collaborations, such as the one with the architect and designer, Joanna Amatoury from the interior design studio, JA Interior design: her search for timeless minimalism, discreet elegance and our passion for tailor-made and unique creations made our collaboration a no-brainer.
Carmen and her artisans await you in our beautiful Parisian neighborhoods, at La Muette Paris 16, on Saturday April 1st and Sunday April 2nd between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to share beautiful moments of discovery and admiration of our artisanal know-how,
See you soon!
